After such a grueling two years of the pandemic, Africa travel was uncertain which way it would go. But now things are opening up, and travel is becoming more and more possible. People are yearning to get out again, and we would like to look at how Africa Travel is so far in 2022.

Is it Safe to Travel to Africa?

I’m sure the question on everyone’s mind is whether it is safe to travel to Africa now. The good news is that it is very safe. Many African countries have taken on the measures adopted by most countries.

Most countries are requesting covid test before a person enters the country. They also have covid testing at the airports. This helps tackle the pandemic at the ports of entry. If one is found positive, they would need to quarantine at specific centers or hotels at their cost. But if they are all clear, they can proceed on their African Travel.

In most African countries, the vaccination role has been very effective. Fully vaccinated travellers lately do not even need to produce a negative PCR test when they arrive in some countries. It is mandatory to wear masks in public, sanitize, have temperature checks, and observe social distancing.

The most significant upside of Africa Travel is that there are very few crowds when you are on a safari. The air is fresh and clean. An outdoor travel adventure is what is best right now. You can enjoy the wide-open spaces away from people. You can enjoy air that is free from pollution. You will return home feeling like a new person and happy that you took the trip.

Is it Cheap to Travel Around Africa?

Africa travel can be a thrilling adventure. It will last for a lifetime. To be affordable, you may need to work with a budget. The cheapest way to enjoy Africa would be to avoid high costs like hiring cars and staying in 5-star hotels.

To travel through Africa, you may have to live like a local while you are there. Use the mode of transportation that everyone else is using and enjoy the local meals. This is the best way to have an authentic African experience. If you are going from one country to another, you need to do your research first and see where your high costs will be. The things that will cost you the most while travelling through Africa includes:

  • Transport
  • Accommodation
  • Safari Tours
  • Visas

To cut down on some of these costs, you may need to choose self-catering accommodations or camping. Regarding tours, you need to be a bit of a negotiator. The tour guides will always offer you the most expensive tours. But you can haggle and negotiate the prices down. Also, there is always someone cheaper than the other, do not jump for the first tour you find. Another hack is to go for group tours so you can split the costs.

The best way to go about the trip is to do enough research beforehand, plan each stage and have a budget for each African country. Try to stick to that budget, so you don’t end up cutting the trip short.

What Time of the Year is Best to Travel to Africa?

The best time for Africa travel can be any time of the year. However, the winter months may be more favorable. It is not so wet from May to September, and the vegetation is also tamer. The animals also tend to gather near the available water sources so that you can see more of them in large numbers.

The rainy season from November to April is perfect for bird lovers, and the landscape is green and lush. The High Season is usually between July and October when the Great Wildebeest Migration occurs. Christmas time and New Year are also part of the peak season and one of the most expensive times to travel to Africa.
