From January 31 to Feb 2, South Africa’s Origin Festival treats you to Africa’s largest psytrance festival courtesy of Nano Records.

Psytrance is a genre of music marked by a set of hypnotic arrangements with a complex of layered melodies brought about by high-tempo introductory phrase repeatedly played.

The 3-day festival held at Elandskloof farm in Helderstroom region features two performance stages, the first one housing psychedelic and progressive music while the second stage highlights techno, ambient and house music.

The primary stage is that which features psychedelic and progressive music at the amazing Psychedelic Dream Temple, an exquisite mobile exhibition giving a platform to artists to showcase their talent from the start to the end of the festival. Work by local and international artists is showcased.

Along the river at Helderstroom, Techno and Deep House come together in an explosive musical performance for the last two days of the festival.

With all the electrifying performances and lit nature of the festival, a moment to sit back and relax is given such a modest way. By the banks of the river, yoga takes reign while some just sit back and enjoy the cool breeze blowing from the river.
