Wasini Island in Kenya: The Dolphin Paradise you should visit

Safaris into the wild are what Kenyan parks are widely known for, however, amid all the glamour that the vast grasslands and charming landscapes housing different wild animals exude, Kenyan ocean waters are equally adventurous.

At the tantalizing South coast of Kenya, the blue-coloured waters of the Indian Ocean and long sandy beaches have are an adventure powerhouse all hidden the Wasini Island.

Located 75km off Mombasa, Wasini Island is home to the now high-flying Dolphin tours, an experience comparable to none and one worth writing about. Kisite-Mpunguti Marine National Park and Reserve have a unique coating of clear coral reefs, snorkelling being a common thing here while sightings of dolphins and turtles brighten up the visit at this marine park. But the fun doesn’t end here; the dhow sail from Diani or Wasini is exhilarating. The dhow sail is in Arabian style across Shimoni and off to the colourful Wasini Coral Island bordering Zanzibar.

Diving comes in handy in the coloured coral reefs. The weather is at best between October and March when the ocean is calm and visibility is good.
