How to Catch Flights to Zanzibar Tanzania From London

Tourists worldwide catch flights to Zanzibar Tanzania to enjoy the intriguing history, idyllic beaches and unique blend of cultural diversity.

Zanzibar is a perfect destination for international tourists who want to enjoy the view of crystal clear turquoise waters and miles of powder-white sandy beaches. 

However, travellers from London cannot fly directly to the beautiful island. 

There are currently no direct flights to Zanzibar Tanzania, from London. But there are several options via other international airports the travellers can use to visit the archipelago of islands.

1. From London Heathrow to Doha to Zanzibar 

You can depart London Heathrow in the evening and fly to Doha. From Doha, you will catch a direct flight to Zanzibar Tanzania, and by 1420 hours, you will be in the archipelago of islands.

Qatar Airways works particularly well when you want to fly from London to Zanzibar via Doha.

2. From London Heathrow to Nairobi to Zanzibar 

The other way you can catch flights to Zanzibar Tanzania is by flying to Nairobi first. You would depart London Heathrow in the afternoon and fly to Nairobi. From Nairobi, you will catch a direct flight to Zanzibar.

There are around five flights from Nairobi to Zanzibar every day. The first departs at around 0730 hours and the last a few minutes before midnight.

You would then arrive in Zanzibar at around 1000 hours the following day. When you decide to fly to Nairobi first, Kenya Airways works well.

3. From London Heathrow to Dar es Salaam to Zanzibar

Another way to catch flights to Zanzibar Tanzania is by flying to Dar es Salaam from London. In Dar es Salaam, you would be met at the airport, where you would then use a light aircraft to fly directly to Zanzibar.

The flight from Dar es Salaam to Tanzania takes around 20 minutes. The first flight to Zanzibar departs Dar es Salaam at around 0730 hours, and the last at around 1830 hours.

4. From London to other airports in Tanzania to Zanzibar 

Travelling to other places in Tanzania from London is also a way you can use to catch flights to Zanzibar. This works well if you are on vacation.

You would fly from London to either Arusha, Ruaha, Manyara, the Serengeti, or Pemba and Mafia islands. Once you arrive at any of those destinations, you will catch a direct flight to Zanzibar.

However, some of the flights will require a change in Dar es Salaam.
