Harare is the populous city of Zimbabwe fist discovered in 1890 by the British. It was later developed by a section of British rulers. Over the years, it has grown to be one of the best shopping hubs in Southern Africa.

Patrick Mavros

For jewellery, Patrick Mavros is the place for you in Harare, The store’s handmade silver jewellery is affordable and authentic. The setting of the shop gives a spectacular view of wildlife in the valley within the city.

Kikis

Kikis is a Dutch-owned arts and craft shop few metres away from Patrick Mavros. It deals in exquisite furniture, hand-painted porcelain and Shona wooden stools.

Eastgate Centre

The astounding part about this shopping mall is its eco-architecture design allowing airflow based on termite mound technology. Most of the goods sold here are local but stylish. It also has several restaurants with international and local cuisine.

These design features work together to reduce temperature changes within the building interior as temperatures outside fluctuate. The $35 million building saved 10% on costs up-front by not purchasing an air-conditioning system. Rents are less expensive in this building compared to nearby buildings because of the savings in energy costs.

Chapungu Village

Located at the Doon Estate complex, Chapungu Village features 16 artists specializing in carving Shona sculptures.

Avondale Shopping Centre

It is located Situated about 3km north of the CBD of Harare. Designed to suit backpackers, Avondale offers all kinds of electronic devices, cafes, restaurants and bars. This ever-busy shopping complex has a book shop (Avondale Book Shop) which is filled with a variety of books to satisfy your cognitive needs.

Other shops include Techtools for all your genuine Apple products, TV Sales and Hire to mention a few. When running out cash don’t despair for there is Barclays Bank, Standard Bank and MBCA Bank at your service including their ATMs.
