Nigeria’s capital, Lagos has a reputation of being one of Africa’s cities where business and leisure cannot be separated. In its industrious nature, Lagos has enchanted visitors by width and breadth.

Here is a plan on how to spend five days in Lagos:

Day One

Jet into the country and head into one of the best hotels on the island. The best time is before or around noon before traffic builds up. Get rest and have your lunch at Terra Kulture and supper at Radisson Blu Hotel. The view of the lagoon is amazing.

Day Two

The mainland is your first stop in seeing the beauty of Lagos which starts at the University of Lagos. Here, explore shops selling beautiful secondhand clothes. Head to Yaba market for household wares. Head to Computer Village and the National Theatre in Iganmu. Head back to the island and end the day at the Jazzhole.

Day Three

A trip to Nigeria can never be complete without indulging in Nigerian food. Several restaurants offer great traditional Nigerian meals and a fantastic place to head out to is bukas found in the mainland and island. Other places to try out Nigerian cuisine include; White House in Yaba, Yakoyo in Illupeju and Amala Phase 1 in Dolphin Estate, Ikoyi. However, Bottles is your ultimate hotel for dinner with a Mexican theme and music.

Day Four

A tour to Eko Market locally known as Balogun or Idumota market in Marina, Lagos Island starts off your day. The market has all sorts of textiles and hair extensions; jewellery and household items. Wind up in Bogobiri, Victoria Island is great for dinner and live musical performance.

Day Five

Leki Conservation Centre in Lagos is an incredible ecotourist centre. Bird watching is a spectacle here. The environment is also friendly for long walks and sports. The best way to end your day after spending it at the conservation area is by visiting the best nightclubs in Lagos. They include Quilox, Sip, Vellvett, Escape among others.
