The great migration is back with us once again and affordable hotels in Maasai Mara give you a reason to fly to Kenya.

This national reserve lies in Kenya’s Rift Valley Province, in Narok County to be specific. It is one of the most visited reserves in Kenya and a major wildlife habitat in East Africa.

Established in 1961 in an area of 1,510 square kilometers, the Mara is a magnet for international tourists. Wildebeests, topi, gazelle, buffaloes, hippopotamuses, crocodiles, hyenas, cheetahs, jackals, bat-eared foxes, and countless other kinds of animals and birds call Masai Mara home.

Countless species of avian life including vultures, marabou storks, secretary birds, hornbills, crowned cranes, ostriches, long-crested eagles, African pygmy-falcons, and the lilac-breasted roller call this home.

Yet, one of the most important aspects of any safari in the great Mara is choosing where to stay. There are three distinct price points to choose from: deluxe, standard, and cheap.

Although there are many inexpensive options, this post focuses on those with the best amenities for an affordable price.
