Hitherto, a dozen celebrities from the west and global leaders have visited the vast Swahili territory abounding with game, reserves, and stunning geographical wonders.

So, this article highlights big names in the world who visited Tanzania recently or in the past.

Stephen Curry

Popularly known as Steph Curry, the American basketballer is the latest celebrity to visit Tanzania. In August 2021, Curry in the company of his wife is exploring the magical Zanzibar and Serengeti National Park. Zanzibar has pristine beaches with world-class beach hotels. Serengeti gives the wildlife thrill, the best there is in the globe.

Lupita Nyong’o

Hollywood actress and Oscar award winner Lupita Nyong’o crossed borders over the Easter holiday in April 2021 to experience life at the Serengeti National Park.

A bubbly Lupita was thrilled by life in the wild and did not hold back from posting an amazing image of her and a huge African elephant in the background. “This is not a zoom background, I promise! #elphie in the Serengeti,” a post on her Instagram read.

Lupita is part of the documentary film ‘Serengeti’, a Discovery series where she plays a huge role as a narrator.

Will Smith

The American star actor toured the Serengeti in 2019 in the company of his lovely wife Jada Smith. Will was shooting a documentary for NatGeo at the Serengeti.

Barrack Obama

The 44th US President Barrack Obama in 2018 surprised the world with his private visit to Kilimanjaro. There was no pomp at all. He was in the company of his wife and their two children. They spent eight days in Tanzania and part of their stay was in Serengeti.

David Beckham

English football player David Beckham spent a week in Tanzania. He was together with his family where he toured the Swahili land by width and breadth. Beckham’s highlight trip to Tanzania was the African safari to the wild.
