Mozambique’s Bazaruto Archipelago – a group of six islands off the coastline – is by far, the best honeymoon destination in Mozambique. The island life of Bazaruto Archipelago is dotted by spectacular marine life and ecologies to behold.

The six islands namely, Bazaruto, Benguerra, Margaruque, Santa Carolina (Paradise Island), Banque and Pansy Shell Island are located near the mainland city of Vilankulo. The spotless coral reefs surrounding the islands are home to whales, dolphins, the rare Dugong and over 2000 species of fish. The best part of Bazaruto Archipelago is that it takes care of visitors from all walks of life; from the reclusive, kids to party lovers.

Needless to say, snorkelling, kayaking, parasailing and diving at the Bazaruto Marine National Park is idyllic for anyone who loves marine activities. The pristine waters in the Island make diving up to the depth of 30 metres look so effortless while snorkellers spend the time at The Aquarium at Paradise Island which is a vast protected natural pool.

In case you haven’t been on a canoe, Bazaruto Archipelago treats you to one of the most exciting paddle canoe rides while watching Dolphins jump in the clear Indian Ocean waters. At Paradise Island, kids have a lot of fun with activities such as skiing and Hobie Cat Sailing.

To crown your experience in Bazaruto, climbing the sand dunes and making that nerve-racking visit to the crocodile-infested lake in the middle of the island could push your test of courage and faith to a whole new level. However, for the faint-hearted, a bird watching spree is as exciting with about 140 bird species to watch. Generous walks along the white, sandy beaches while binging on that cocktail is equally refreshing.

Generally, this part of Mozambique enjoys the tropical climate which has minimal rainfall with very warm nights.
