Concurs d’Elegance is Kenya’s only event where class meets elegance in a feature of classic vintage motors, both cars and motorcycles. The event attracts about 10,000 people, a number that the Kenya Motor Sports Federation is keen on growing.

Concurs d’Elegance was started by Alfa Romeo Owners Club (Kenya) but traces its inception to France in the 17th century. The words ‘Concurs d’Elegance’ mean a ‘competition of elegance’ brought out through prestigious vintage vehicles that are paraded and then judged. The judges’ award points based on the vehicle’s cleanliness, condition and age.

The CBA Concurs d’Elegance 2019’s edition will go down at the Ngong Racecourse where 70 classic vehicles and 40 motorcycles are expected to feature on September 26. It is the 49th edition of the event that has become popular across the world. Over the years, entries from Mexico, Rwanda, Uganda, Mauritius, Tanzania, Zanzibar, Germany, Australia, Argentina, Malawi and South Africa have increased.

Besides the glamour exhibited by the vintage cars, the CBA Concurs d’Elegance has 28 Motor Trade stands, a MotorSport Arcade, Classic Car and Motorcycle Sale section, and the Heritage Collection exhibiting old machinery and equipment. The event also is a major stop for fashion trends as visitors rock in different fashion designs at the carnival. Children are not left out as they while away their time at the entertainment centre.

A live band crowns Concurs d’Elegance during the parade of all vintage cars and motorcycles and after at the grand finale which comes shortly after prize giving.
