With a population of two million people, it is one of the smallest countries in Africa not unlike eSwatini (Swaziland) that has a comparable population. Nevertheless, the Gambia is a haven for travellers especially those with a penchant for luxury.

The country boasts golden beaches flanked by towering palm trees with lagoons and charming holiday hotels such as Palma Rima Hotel, Ngala Lodge, Kombo Beach Hotel among others. Gambia National Park, Abuko National Reserve and Bijilo Forest Park take you to another world of game viewing.  It has an abundance of wildlife and over 600 species of birds.
