Data by the Tanzania Tourist Board (TTB), in 2018 indicated that 77,000 visitors from the UK visited Tanzania for vacation. Sarah Cooke who served as the British High Commissioner to Tanzania at the time described the nation’s beauty as unforgettable. She toured every corner of the country during her tenure and she was impressed. Cooke’s takeaway was that there would be more British tourists in Tanzania visiting.

Tanzanian tourism officials want to triple the number of visitors the country receives even as other popular tourism destinations apply brakes to curtail droves of UK tourists flying in. Brits are under an earlier advisory not to attend illegal parties in Majorca and Ibiza because else they pay a £25,000 fine. According to Dr. Aloyce Nzuki, the Ministry of Natural Resources and Tourism’s deputy permanent secretary, Tanzania aims to double the number of visiting UK tourists. Dr Nzuki projects annual visits by British tourists to increase to about 150,000 from 75,000.
