Kenya Tourist Coast Tourism brand was birthed by Kenya Coast Working Group (KCWG) which has operations in Mombasa, Lamu, Kilifi, Diani, Tana River and Tsavo which are the main tourist areas in the region.

Kenya coast tourism brand launched to promote tourism

The Kenya Tourist Coast brand identity has been launched as the country gears up to revive the sector fully amid fears of the second COVID-19 wave.

Tourism Chief Administrative Secretary (CAS) Joseph Boinett launched the new brand on Sunday in a colourful event.

Boinett praised the effort by the private sector in the role it plays in growing the tourism industry.

The Tourism CAS maintained that the new brand is a step in promoting Kenya’s coast as a top travel destination.

Boinett lauded KCGW saying that since it was launched in 2018, much has been achieved in the coast.

He also hailed the private sector for playing an important role in the implementation of strategies by the Tourism ministry in the Coast.

Boinett said that they still work to do in order for Coast region to get to is full potential in regard to tourism citing several factors among them insecurity in some parts of the Coast such as Lamu.

Dr Betty Radier, the Kenya Tourism Board (KTB) CEO added that the Kenya Coast Tourism brand will help in showcasing the country’s diversity.

“When people think about the Kenyan coast in terms of tourism, the first thing that comes to mind is the beach. But the Coast is much more than this, it is about fantastic cuisine to suit all, culture, history, art, good weather and fantastic hospitality. This is what we want people to see when they make their choice for travel,” added Radier according to the Star.
