It supports a larger mission dedicated to rescuing children from trafficking and rebuilding their futures. Every visit helps create lasting change, turning simple moments into meaningful opportunities for vulnerable young lives.

Where is Courage Café Located?

Courage Cafe is situated just off the Kilimanjaro Road in the heart of Moshi town, the cafe is easy to locate and a short drive from the Moshi town centre.  It’s set on lush grounds full of green trees and flora.  To complete its natural look that merges effortlessly with the environment, this Moshi-based cafe offers an excellent, breathtaking view of Mt. Kilimanjaro.

How Does Courage House Help Children?

More than a delightful dining experience, the cafe is part of the Courage House initiative that cares for survivors of child trafficking.

“In a world where children are sold for sex, Courage Worldwide provides safe houses and resources for child victims so they can reach their unique potential,” comments Stephanie Midthun, Regional Director at Courage House Tanzania.

Courage Worldwide is committed to providing safe houses and resources for child victims of sex trafficking so they can reach their full potential. Courage Worldwide (CWW) became a registered Tanzanian Non-Government Organization (NGO) in 2009 to open a Courage House. The house is a faith-based residential trauma treatment program and home for minor girls who have been trafficked for s3x.

What’s the Vision of Courage House?

The vision of Courage Worldwide is to replicate this model in every city in the world that needs one. In 2022, Courage Worldwide opened in Dar es Salaam with the same unique model based on culturally-relevant trauma therapy, restoration and assistance to victims of s3x trafficking.

“There is a need for victim support in this rapidly growing urban city and we are excited to continue partnering with a variety of stakeholders, including governmental, non-governmental, intergovernmental, faith-based leaders and communities, businesspeople and more, to see the eradication of this crime against the most vulnerable and to rescue and restore more victims,” the Regional Director details.

With more than 40 staff, the program has helped hundreds of victims to date. Courage House continues to support trafficking victims and to raise awareness. Part of the revenue from Courage Cafe is donated into the rescue program, so with every sip of your coffee or bite of your culinary delight, you know you are making a difference.

“It is our mission and ministry to use the space of Courage Cafe and Events Center to educate the community on trafficking, its nature and how we can work together to support victims and end this crime against the most vulnerable,” the Regional Director concludes.
