The bill, known as the Anti-Homosexuality Act, was passed by a vote of 275 to 0.

The bill criminalizes any sexual activity between people of the same sex, including consensual sex between adults.

 The bill also criminalizes "promoting" homosexuality, which is defined as "any act that is intended to arouse or implant in the mind of any person, the idea that homosexuality is acceptable."

The bill imposes the death penalty for "aggravated homosexuality," which is defined as "homosexuality involving a minor or a person with HIV."

 The bill has been condemned by human rights groups, who say it is discriminatory and will lead to violence against LGBTQ people.

The UN Human Rights Council has called on Uganda to withdraw the bill.

The US State Department has said that the bill is "deeply troubling" and "a setback for human rights."

Museveni has previously expressed support for the bill, but he has also said that he would not sign it if it would lead to violence.
