UN warns of intensifying fighting in the Darfur region, marking the seventh month of the war between the army and paramilitaries. 

Since the war began, numerous bodies have been left to rot in the streets in both Khartoum and Darfur, with particularly violent fighting in the latter. 

On April 16, at least 56 civilians were killed, and hundreds more injured as violence rocked Sudan, with the army and paramilitary force RSF battling. 

Travel agencies and online guides facilitate the journey, involving multiple connecting flights and bus rides, avoiding the dangerous Darien Gap route.

As of May 2, Darfur and Khartoum have endured four months of intense fighting, prompting China to evacuate its citizens from Sudan due to ongoing violence. 

Khartoum residents report being awakened by warplanes and experiencing violent fighting between forces loyal to army chief Abdel Fattah al-Burhan and the Rapid Support Forces (RSF). 

Nearly four months of violent street battles between the Sudanese Army and RSF have made funerals a common occurrence.
