Date Ideas in Nairobi

1. Enjoy A Cup of Java Coffee

Well, it’s no secret that some of the best coffee beans in the world are made in Kenya. However, not every Kenyan has tasted the coffee served at high-end coffee shops such as Java House. Take your better half to try the most delightful coffees at Java if you are searching for unique date ideas in Nairobi.

2. Go Horse Riding at Achi’s Ranch

One of the best ways to enjoy an adventure through the forest is to do it on a horse. Well, you can enjoy this fun activity with your partner at Achi’s Ranch located in Karen. Here, they offer horse riding excursions through Ngong Forest with the guidance of well-trained professionals.

3. Do Karaoke

How about doing karaoke with your partner in the evening? A karaoke machine broadcasts that bathroom singing voice to the living room and you can enjoy a good laugh at each other’s expense when they mispronounce the lyrics or stutter at the high notes.

Wondering where you can do karaoke in Kenya’s capital? Worry no more because we got you covered. Visit the Club Hypnotica Charity Karaoke on Sundays at Woodvale Grove, Westlands. You can also enjoy a video karaoke night every Tuesday from 7 pm at Cubano Sports Bar located on Stedmark Road, off Magadi Road.

One of the unique date ideas in Nairobi is visiting the Butterfly Centre. Imagine sitting in a setting surrounded by hundreds of butterflies of them in all their glory. As they flutter around, you and your partner can enjoy the beautiful shapes and colours. The Nairobi Butterfly Centre is located in the Karen area, about 10 km southwest of the city.

5. Go Ice Skating

For most Kenyans, skating is an acquired taste. This activity needs an adventurous person and if your partner is one, then it is one of the date ideas to try in Nairobi.

Once you have had enough of the scorching African sun, visit Panari, which is the only Solar Ice Rink of its kind in East and Central Africa. The rink, which is 32 by 12 m in size and has a 15,000 sq. ft, can accommodate 200 skaters at any time and is open seven days a week from 11.00 am until 10.00 pm.

6. Visit Nairobi National Park

Nairobi, Kenya’s capital, is the only city in the world that has a national park inside of it. Well, it would be unfortunate to talk about date ideas in Nairobi and not mention a visit to Nairobi National Park. Together with your partner, you can take a guided safari tour, go hiking or biking on one of the park’s many trails, or enjoy a picnic in the beautiful surroundings.

7. Watch The Sunset at KICC

Finally, you and your partner can call it a day at the Kenyatta International Conference Centre (KICC) rooftop. For the longest time, the KICC was the tallest building in the country where people would enjoy panoramic views of the city.

Even though it’s no longer the tallest, the KICC is still a great location to watch the city and enjoy a stunning sunset. Here, you’ll have an obstructed view of Nairobi from every possible angle. After the sun sets, you can stargaze for a little longer before leaving.
