Oniru Beach Nigeria is one of the best places to relax on a weekend. Lagos has so many beaches because of its closeness to the Atlantic. Oniru beach is a private beach owned by the Oniru Royal family of Oniru, a suburb of Victoria Island. The serenity and proximity of Oniru Private beach make it one of the most popular beaches to visit in Lagos.

Lagos life is demanding because of its endless traffic. One of the best places to unwind and breathe is the beach.

How to Get to Oniru Beach

Oniru beach is a beautiful sunny beach located in Oniru Royal Estate, Ligali Ayorinde Street, close to water corporation drive, V.I.

It is one of the closest beaches to any location within Lagos either Island or the mainland. So, if you’re afraid of driving large distances to get to Oniru Beach, don’t be. Depending on where you’re coming from, it is around a 20-minute journey from the mainland, or a five-minute drive from Lekki Phase One.

From the mainland, you can take a bus for 200 nairas to the water corporation drive.

Alternatively, you can take a bus going to Lekki and stop at the Oniru bus stop along with the sand fill bus stop, then take another bus to Oniru beach for 100 nairas. you can as well trek to the beach from a sand full bus stop if you don’t mind a little walk.

How Much is the Gate Fee?

Oniru Beach gate is 1,000 naira per adult, If you are driving, you will pay 200 Naira for parking.

The beach is open to anyone 24 hours daily. So, you can visit at any time of the day, however, there is a curfew at midnight.

Parking is adequate nevertheless.

Fun Things to do at Oniru Beach

The beach hosts several musical shows, events, and live shows. It also offers several activities like horse riding, volleyball, beach ball, swimming, etc. The waves at the beach are friendly. Here are some fun things you can do at Oniru beach.

Horse Riding

Horseback riding is one of the many enjoyable activities available. For 500 naira, you can snap pictures with a horse, and for 1000 naira, you can ride it.

Jet Skiing

Another activity available is jet skiing. Jet skiing is a recreational water sport in which a bike-like machine called a jet ski is used. So, if you like to get your adrenaline pumping, this is the place to be.

Boat Ride

A boat ride is another fun activity at Oniru Beach. At the shore, some sellers offer tourists pleasant boat rides. The boat ride is usually a fun time. So, if you’re looking for something enjoyable to do in Oniru, take a boat ride.

Joy Ride 

Oniru Beach is also a great place for a family outing. There are amusement parks for both children and adults who are still young at heart.

The Joy Ride facility is manually run by young guys who perform impressive stunts while preparing the machine. A ride will set you back 500 nairas per person. The cost is 500 naira per person.

Moist Restaurant and Beach Club

Oniru Beach has several excellent restaurants, including the well-known Moist Restaurant & Beach Club. The Moist Beach Club is a continental restaurant, private club, and beach resort with a pool and stunning views of the water.

The Reef at Moist Beach Club, located right on the sea, is a favorite venue for private events such as birthdays, anniversaries, corporate parties, and modest weddings.

 Picnic

Another fun activity is to have a picnic with friends. You can rent their chairs and cabanas or simply bring your beach mat and umbrellas.

You can also go to the beach with your food and drinks to spend a relaxing day. You can keep yourself occupied by playing games like Ludo or scrabble. To make it even more fun, bring your music player to the beach.

Oniru Beach has a lively and crowded ambience. It’s the epitome of having a good time. If you prefer a quiet and serene environment, visiting this beach in the evening or on the weekends may not be the greatest choice. Better visit during the weekdays. However, if you’re looking for a packed beach with nonstop fun and music, this is one of the greatest spots to go.
